A First AdvanceSM RAL or Refund Anticipation Loan (RAL) is a loan provided by JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. (Chase) based on the amount of your anticipated Federal tax refund. You can apply for a $1,500 First AdvanceSM RAL or a Refund Anticipation Loan up to $10,000.

No prior RAL experience is necessary to apply!

An approved tax refund loan is available on a Chase Bank cashier's check in as little as 3 minutes for a First AdvanceSM RAL or 12 to 48 hours for a RAL! This cashier's check can be cashed at any Chase Bank for FREE!

Fees for these tax refund loans vary depending on the amount you wish to borrow against your anticipated Federal tax refund and can be taken directly from the refund, which means NO out-of-pocket expense!

State tax refunds CANNOT be considered when applying for a tax refund loan.

Approved Tax Refund Loans

We will print the Chase Bank cashier's check in our office as soon as the bank APPROVES your tax refund anticipation loan application. If you loan is not for the FULL amount of your tax refund, we will print subsequent cashier's checks when the IRS (and state tax agency, if applicable) deposits your actual tax refund(s) into the temporary deposit account set up at Chase Bank. Your loan gets paid off when the IRS (and state tax agency, if applicable) deposits your refund(s) into this temporary deposit account. For IRS refunds, this usually takes 8 to 15 days. State tax refunds usually take anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks. If the deposit(s) are less than the loan amount, you will be responsible for paying any outstanding loan balance to the bank.

Tax Refund Loan Requests Over $3,500

If Chase Bank does NOT approve you for the FULL tax refund loan amount for which you applied, the bank may offer your a reduced RAL of $3,250. You have the option of accepting or rejecting this offer. If you reject the offer, the RAL application will become a Bonu$ Deposit Account. Your cost will be REDUCED, since you will NOT be charged any finance charges. Your tax refund will be available after the IRS makes the actual direct deposit of your refund to the temporary deposit account established at Chase Bank. The IRS will usually make the deposit within 8 to 15 days. A Chase Bank cashier's check will be available to you at our office when the deposit occurs.

Denied Tax Refund Loans

The First AdvanceSM RAL and Refund Anticipation Loan (RAL)  are LOANS and are subject to underwriting approval. Chase Bank uses a variety of screening factors to determine whether it will make a loan on an applicant's anticipated federal tax refund. The criteria for approval is proprietary to the bank and specific information may or may not be available to share with you verbally. Therefore, the bank automatically sends a letter to all applicants whose applications are denied.

If your tax refund loan is DENIED, you will have to wait for the IRS to deposit your actual tax refund into the temporary deposit account set up at Chase Bank. Your cost will be REDUCED, since you will NOT be charged any finance charges. The loan application will automatically become a Bonu$ Deposit Account. The IRS will usually make the deposit within 8 to 15 days. A Chase Bank cashier's check will be available to you at our office when the deposit occurs.
