50% Special Depreciation Allowance for Tax Year 2008

For tax year 2008, taxpayers are allowed an additional 50% bonus depreciation allowance on certain qualified property. This special "bonus" depreciation applies to most types of tangible property and computer software acquired and placed in service in 2008. This "bonus" depreciation is in addition to the regular depreciation allowance.
